Similar to the now-defunct Copernic99, Glooton is a meta search utility - software that allows you to search multiple search engines of varying kinds simultaneously, similar to the Sherlock capability found in Mac OS 8.5 and later. Like Copernic (and unlike Sherlock), Glooton is available for both Mac and Windows; unlike Copernic, the full version is entirely free. Version 1.5.1 adds/changes the following:
Glooton requires Mac OS 8.0, QuickTime 4, and 4.6 MB of RAM.
"I have been using Glooton for about a year now - I love it! I use it more than any other search engines because it covers them all in one swoop! When I am looking up research or patterns, I always use Glooton because I know it will give me the most coverage. I don't even use Sherlock anymore. It's so much faster and covers a wider area. I could go on and on how much I love this 'Toy'."

Also, if you have an older Mac, be sure to check out the "Classic" applications page for more options.
Finally, take a look at ALEMIA if you think you know that name of an application, but aren't quite sure.
No, I don't accept reviews anymore for these older applications. With the creation of this page in the Orchard's late 2005 redesign, I only accept reviews for currently-developed applications that work on Mac OS X (or later....whatever that might be!!).
